NEW COMPUTER, NEW BLOGGING.

So lately I have become such a lazy blogger, not because I don't want to blog but because I haven't had the best opportunities to do so. This equates to Jill's been sharing her boyfriend's computer and he has been out of town a lot. Don't get me wrong, I have my own laptop, but I received it when I was a senior in high school and now it's too slow to do any type of blogging.

Right before G left to go out of town he surprised me by stopping by Best Buy and we perused the computers. At first I was like this is torture seeing all of these pretty, shiny, new things taunting me on the shelves. Before I knew it I was standing in the checkout, new laptop in hand.

G said he wanted me to be able to blog while he was away. Swoon.

How did I get so lucky?

Anyways I'll stop it with the mushy stuff, but this is my very first post on my new laptop!

By the way, does anyone out there have Windows 8? Ohmygoodness I feel like an idiot trying to navigate it.

So lately since my mornings have been consisting of the dogs, blogging, and being glued to the couch I have found The Hills on Retro MTV!

Yep my mornings just got THAT much better. I loved The Hills when It was still airing on TV. Such good entertainment. The whole Speidi, LC/ Brody, Audrina/ Justin-Bobby drama. I love it all.

And its on from 9am - noon.

G if you're reading this I promise that I am totally doing something productive while I relive these awesome moments.

JULY CARA BOX

So this month I participated in the July Carabox. The theme was Sail Away or Nautical Theme. So cute!

I got paired up with two awesome ladies. I sent a box to here . Kendra sent me a box this month!

I received coral and teal striped napkins, striped straws for my margs, an awesome red nail polish, and one of the best wall scents that I have ever smelled.

Immediately after opening my Carabox, I popped in the wall scents. Ohmygod it smells like heaven. I kinda want to bottle the scent and make G wear it as a cologne. It smells that good and it's kinda manly. The next thing I used were the adorable straws. Of course I just had to have a marg to test them out. I loved the napkins so much that I went to Pier 1 and picked up a matching set. I haven't used them yet but I'm sure I will soon.

SUMMER TIME FAVS

So lately I have been obsessed with a lot of products. G has been getting an ear full of all of my "wants" right now. Poor G. So I decided to put together a list of my favorites to share with all of you!

one. Kate Spade Cross Body. I've actually been consumed with these for awhile but their so stylish that I can't get them out of my head. I love the coral one above. Swoon.

two. Nautical jewelry. I love nautical anything, especially bracelets. That is so fetch! .... "Gretchen stop trying to make fetch happen. It's not going to happen!"  Geez that movie never gets old.

three. This is my favorite mascara hands down. You put the white end on first to lengthen and plump and then go over your lashes with the regular black mascara. I receive tons of complements on my lashes when I use it.

four. Maxi Dresses. I love love love me some maxi dresses. They're perfect to wear when you are feeling insecure about your body and they can cover almost anything. Also they're super cute and flow-y. Maxis can help you feel 10 times better than just being in a regular short dress.

five. Chacos. Now I've owned these shoes for awhile, but they are a summer time fav of mine. I probably own about five pairs and I still want more. They are super comfy and are great for hiking, being in water, or just plain wear for day-to-day. They also come in an assortment of colors. A little pricey but totally worth it.

What are your summer time favs?

SEX ON A STICK

I ended up having dinner with a friend the other night and we got on the topic of the five hottest men in Hollywood. I know what you are thinking... There's so many, how can I ever choose? Well I did and here they are. In my opinion, of course. Beware ladies, you might need a cold shower when you are through reading.

one. Adam Levine. Um hello, does this picture not say it all? The very lucky girl covering his privates was his then girlfriend at the time. Where can you sign me up for this job? His voice is alright too, I guess...

two. Ian Somerholder. All I have to say is meow. I love his character on Vampire Diaries. He's also been rumored to play Christian Grey in the 50 Shades of Grey movie. I am all for this. He would make an excellent Mr. Grey.

three. James and Dave Franco. Okay, okay. Technically this is two people but they're brothers so I listed them as one. Never heard of James' younger brother Dave? Check out 21 Jump Street. I promise you will not be disappointed.

four. Kellen Lutz. I mean, I'd let him bite me... Joking, of course. But he's way hotter than Rpatz in Twilight. Just sayin'

five. Paul Walker. I'm not gonna lie. I've seen every Fast and the Furious movie made and it's not because I like fast cars..

What actors really tickle your fancy?

Weekend Wrap Up: Dave Matthews Band and Giveaway.

So this Friday a group of my friends and I drove up the Cincinnati, OH to see Dave Matthews Band play at the Riverbend Amphitheater. This was actually my fourth year in a row seeing them play at that venue. And it was just as magical as the first!

We arrived early in Cincy and decided to stop and drink  eat at Yard House. This place had my jaw dropping mouth watering. Over like 150 beer taps. Wow! The first three pages of their menu was dedicated to their draft beers. We also realized that we made it just in time for happy hour 3-6pm. Perfect. We started the day off right with a bang. Their Kung Pow Calamari was delish. I ordered a surf n' turf burger which had a huge piece of lobster on top with asparagus and a tomato Bearnaise sauce.  All eight of us left feeling completely stuffed. Fat and happy.

Normally we park and tailgate in the Riverdowns' parking lot. It has been really cool in the past to sit and drink and watch the horses but unfortunately they tore it down. This year we were forced to park in the Coney Island parking lot. As soon as I sat down and cracked a beer a bike cop appeared telling us that there was to be no loitering or drinking in the lot.  Ummm what?  Who made these rules? So of course every one shotgunned a couple while we packed back up as slowly as possible. Talk about a day ruin-er. Geez Louise.

Luckily in the venue they had a really nice selection of alcohol. Anything from top shelf drinks to Strawberitas.

OAR opened for Dave this year and only played a couple of songs. To tell you the truth I was that impressed.

We manage to get a perfect spot in the middle of the lawn, close enough to see the stage. Now if you have never seen Dave Matthews Band in concert, I feel bad for you. You do not know what your are missing. They are my number one act to see live. Last year I became sort of a stalker road fan and saw them play five shows in 11 days. If that's not love I don't know what is.

One of the eight in our group the other night managed to snag a pit pass which got me closer to Dave than I have ever been. I could see the sweat pouring, and could almost touch him. I'm pretty sure Carter Beauford winked at me too. Swoon.
Here are some pictures from the concert from my phone. Sorry for the shotty picture quality. I left my nicer camera at home and kicked myself the entire night for it. Idiot.

Get it Dave!

Feeling a little blogged down today.

So this morning I woke up thinking what in the heck am I going to write about today. A couple of random topic crossed through my mind, but nothing stuck. Since starting my blog back in April, blogging has been such a joy. I've always loved to read and write and my little piece of the interwebs is such a cool outlet for me. Now it wasn't until recently that I started to feel a little spread thin. Maybe it was Fourth of July festivites, maybe because I would just rather be falling off a pool float laying in a pool somewhere with a Strawberita in hand at 9am, or maybe I feel guilty because I should be outside sweating instead of sitting on my butt glued to a computer. Either way I have become a lazy blogger.

But wait Jill, you say you just started your blog in April?? And you're already getting blogged down ... <- see what I did there?

Yes it's true. I also started this blog as a way to be held accountable.. blah, blah, blah. Y'all know the schpeel.

Since I began I have only lost 10 lbs. Which is great nonetheless, but I was hoping for more. It probably has something to do with the massive amounts of queso and margs that I consume daily weekly.

Anyways, I just wanted to let you all know how I am feeling and I am sorry if it takes me an extra day or two to respond to all the comments. I promise I will though. Pinky promise.

And because no post is complete without some really cool pictures, I will show you my vertical hanging succulent garden progress.

Succulent I used.

1 out of 3 containers.

Picture taken from my deck of my work space. Two down, one to go!

Happy Thursday!

TO GO TO BED ANGRY OR NOT.

So today's post is sorta out of the norm for me. If I talk about my relationships at all, its usually for the better. I try not to get too heavy here in the bloggy world.

In full disclosure: G and I had a fight  about something stupid and we ended up sleeping in separate rooms last night. We are all fine now but this brings me to my quandary.

I've always heard to never go to bed angry with your partner. They say those feelings fester over night and become something maybe more in your subconscious even if you've consciously forgiven them the next day. Going to sleep upset or disturbed preserves the emotion, research suggests.

I've also heard that going to bed angry isn't that bad for your relationship because instead of staying up to the wee hours of the night saying stupid things that should never be said, you wait until morning and with a clear head can talk it out more reasonably.

My questions to all of you taken ladies out there:

one. What is the best relationship advice someone had ever given you?
two. To go to bed angry or not?

KNOXVILLE BLOGGER MEETUP

So last night I had the opportunity to meet up with some Knoxville bloggers.

We decided on Kabuki which is a sushi place here in town. It was delicious. And so were the many bottles of wine that we downed.

Sorry for the bad picture quality, this was taken on my phone.

From left to right: Jessica from The Pink Growl.

We meet around 6pm and closed the place down. Such a fun bunch of ladies!

Rebekkah and I went to see The Heat aftwerwards.

Let me just tell you that lots of sushi and lots of popcorn DO NOT mix. I had what my (almost) two year old niece calls a "tummy ache."

The movie was awesome. Sandra Bullock is one of my all time favorite actors and I've loved Melissa McCarthy since Gilmore Girls.

We laugh throughout the movie and I had a perma-smile plastered on my face the entire time. SO funny. I recommend seeing it this holiday weekend.

I also really want to see The Lone Ranger, which comes out tomorrow I think.

Hope you all are having a fabulous Tuesday.
You can find me at the pool today with a book and a Strawberita in hand.

WEEKEND SHENANIGANS

Good morning lovelies.

Today I am linking up for Weekend Shenanigans.

one. Look at all the pretty succulents. A lot of them are from my garden and some I had to buy.

two. G made me not one, not two, but THREE vertical hanging succulent containers for my hanging succulent garden. I only got a picture of the big one. Its 4x2.  I am so excited to plant them. Gotta love a man that knows how to work with his hands.

three.  We made a drunken watermelon. Okay, okay, it was actually last weekend that we made this but it never made it to the blog. Still it was pretty yummy. and dangerous. It was soaked with Everclear.

four.  Cheers to the weekend. I love frozen fruit in my wine.

five. My gladiolus are FINALLY starting to appear. These suckers take forever.
